Serious cake business

April 22, 2010

Nine and I are going to be making a cake for Crazy Granny’s birthday, and have come across what we think will be the perfect design from Whisk Kid that shouldn’t require significant cake decorating skills, although my ability to plaster will probably come in handy.  It’s also the essence of my artist mother in cake; seemingly normal and traditional on the outside, and crazy and colourful in the middle.

While it may require a few loads in the oven and a steady hand with the icing, hopefully it’s less work than it looks – and it looks amazing!

Wow that cake looks awesome and I don’t really eat cake. But I would take a big bite out of that one!

    Good luck making it.
