Box of delights

July 7, 2010

We’re a week into the sleep regression and we’re still waking 3 or 4 times a night to settle or feed G depending on how loudly, and for how long, she is screaming.  I am officially not having a good time.

How about a distraction?  My Amazon package arrived today filled with lots of fun books for me and my Bee, some for reading, and others for sewing.

A couple of books that were favourites when I was a child:

One morning in Maine by Robert McCloskey

Harry the Dirty Dog by Gene Zion & Margaret Bloy Graham

The Little White Horse by Elizabeth Goudge

An excellent guide to feelings and self esteem for kids, again from my childhood.   I still use the phrases ‘warm fuzzies’ and ‘cold pricklies’!

T.A. for Tots: And Other Prinzes by Alvyn M. Freed & JoAnn Dick

And having been inspired by seeing them on Soulemama and Katie Did, a couple of beautiful books of clothing and other goodies to sew.  Now I just need to find a good source for fabric here in Melbourne.

Carefree Clothes for Girls by Junko Okawa

Amy Butler's Little Stitches for Little Ones

he also wrote love you forever which, if you haven’t read it, is the creepiest book of all time.
