Outside the square

October 10, 2010

It only took me basically the whole of winter, but I finally finished the jumper I was knitting for The Bee!  Previously I’d only attempted scarves and other rectangular items, but once I learned to read the pattern and got going it wasn’t as difficult as I thought.  I do have  difficulty estimating how big the final product will be, although not sure if that’s me, or just that Lady G is on the small size.  I followed the instructions for the 9 month version, but it’s still a little big for her at 11 months.  Still, I feel enthused to try this again – perhaps a little shrug for summer, or a bigger jumper for next winter.

Please Mama, don't make me the kid who only wears handkitted sweaters!

It’s beautiful! And do is she!! Turning into such a little girl now, not a baby anymore.
I knitted two experimental lines of a blanket for the bean, then remembered why I don’t knit! It looked more like a health hazard than a warm and snuggly cover. Kid gonna have to rely on shop bought goods, I’m afraid.
