The witching hour

February 11, 2011

The witching hour is the time in the middle of the night when magic things are said to happen.  Here’s hoping, because I have no plans to be getting up at midnight to trigger for anything less than a magical reason.

Yeah, sucky timing for our collection; trigger is midnight tomorrow and collection is 2pm on Monday which will require nil by mouth from 7am that morning.  Those who know me well know I don’t perform well when hungry, so I am rather preoccupied by this fact!   (A most excellent distraction from the rest of the process).

We should know how many we collected that afternoon and we’ll find out on Tuesday how fertilization goes.

Had a session of acupuncture today – I forgot how relaxing it was!  I don’t get a lot of chances to just lie around and do nothing these days, and well worth it for that, even if it has no other effect.

My normal acupuncturist doesn’t work on Saturdays so has referred me to a new acupuncture clinic she’s helped set up specifically for IVF treament – which means I can get a session both before and after transfer which is meant to be most beneficial.  It’s more conveniently located for Melbourne IVF than Monash IVF, but still close enough to be worth doing both sessions if I can fit them in.

Assuming all’s quiet on the western front? Keep comfy, not long now.
